Concept

The Concept

The story follows the sequence of songs on the album and is my sole, original interpretation of them. Short Story “Qualia” written by Kira Langolf, copyrighted 2019.

The story was inspired by the album “Underworld” by Vamps (Japanese Rock). The chapters follow the sequence of songs on the album and is my sole, original interpretation. Each song  reflects a chapter of the story.

Why Qualia?
Qualia- In philosophy and psychology, qualia are defined as  individual instances of subjective, conscious experience.  Experiences and views can be drastically different between two people.

(Plus Hyde's song "Mad Qualia" has already inspired a part 2 of this concept.)

In this story, Kam and Dayne see the same things but have different viewpoints and approaches.  Kam chooses aggression and destruction, while Dayne patiently  and methodically plans for the future.

Dayne and Kam are almost identical except for a few beliefs and principles. Much like offshoots of the same religion, each one recognizes their  differences, yet accepts their compatibility.

The story is not “good vs. evil.”  The primary theme is respect of opinions even if they are different.
