Upon his suspicion, Dayne suggests Nia do genetic testing. Shocked and insulted, she thinks this a ploy to either get her blood for his formula, use her as a meal or enslave her as his own Fraction food supply.
Angry, she lashes out at him-doubt ing his integrity, and questioning all of his motives. She kicks his equally shocked self out the door, securing it with vampire proof locks.
She refuses to respond to him. He is deeply hurt. He confides in her that his past has been painful, but is behind him now. He begs her to let out how she really feels and not hold back anything. He thinks if she is brutally honest with him, it will help both of them.
